Are sock and shoe size the same?

Sock size and shoe size are not the same but your shoe size will help you determine your sock size. If you wear a men’s size 11 shoe, you will want a men’s large sock since the men’s large fits shoe sizes 10-12. Refer to oursize chartfor the best fit.

Does Laetts make socks that are 100% wool?

Sock yarns are generally divided into surface and ground yarn. The former you can see, like, merino wool, cotton and nylon which are comprised of 80% fiber content, and the latter are invisible, typically elastic yarns that make socks hold feet tight. As a result, socks cannot be 100% wool.  Socks that are 50 to 80% wool are considered high end by industry standard.

What are the different weight options for socks?

Sock weight (or yarn weight) refers to the fineness/thickness of the yarn used in the knit. We currently have 4 different sock weights: Ultra-lightweight,Lightweight,  Midweight, and Heavyweight.

What are the different cushion levels for socks?

Sock cushion is created by knitting terry loops. The cushion provides added protection in high impact areas, shock absorption, and extra warmth and comfort. Our 4 cushioning levels are No Cushion, Light Cushion, Half Cushion, and Full Cushion. The 4 tiered-weight system, combined with 4 cushioning levels, creates a range of support, warmth, and comfort in our socks. Try different combinations of cushion and weight to find the maximal fit. You can learn more about these levels on our Size Chart

What is Laetts' FIR emission rate?

LAETTS applies far infrared ray (FIR) emission ceramic particles to the fiber, which gently raises the body’s surface temperature, increasing reflection to improve blood circulation during outdoor winter activities. Laetts socks achieve this superior performance as its spectrum emission rate is approximately 23% higher than ordinary FIR. Learn more about Laetts' FIR emission on our technology page.

What are compression socks?

Compression socks have stretchy elastic fibers that apply specific amounts of pressure around the ankles and lower legs to help improve circulation. Compression socks are most commonly designed as knee-high or over-the-calf.

The amount of pressure — or compression — a sock provides is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg), which is a standard unit of pressure measurement used in the medical industry.

Laetts compression socks is Light Compression of 15-20 mmHg. This is a non-medical level, popular with competitive sports and everyday use.

How does graduated compression in a sock work?

A graduated compression sock uses a strategic reduction in pressure, from the ankle to the top of the sock, to encourage blood and lymphatic fluid to return to the heart instead of pooling in the lower legs and feet.

What are the benefits of compression socks?

During or after skiing or snowboarding, compression socks can help keep blood flowing, oxygenating your blood which supplies your muscles with increased nutrients and oxygen. The end result is more energy to power through your activity and better muscle function. Another functionality is increased support for your muscles and decreased muscular vibration, which reduces muscle fatigue meaning more endurance and longer stamina. As a plus, benefits of compression socks remain long after your day on the slopes.
