    These are perfect under waders for fishing. Let's be honest--when I have a fish on, you could poke a size 8 hopper through my ear, run a thorn through my thumb or fall in the river (all of which I've done) and I just don't notice which socks I have on. For all those times in between: I notice. These are the best. Those extra cold tail waters or cold temps in late fall, winter and early spring, these are noticeably better. Hygro-heat works. I was worried that I wouldn't like the over-the-calf length of the sock. But that's when they shine. The Merino wool barrier feels comfortable the moment you put them on. It insulates and warms the lower leg and foot. It's way better than any other sock. I'm glad they put the technology into this seemingly overlooked piece of gear. It's high-tech that performs.
